Amzel's Story

Amzel Faye (Chism) Clayton, 92 years of age, died Tuesday June 13, 2017 at the Green Valley Care Center. She was born January 12, 1925 in Wolf Creek, Kentucky to the late Adlai S. and Nellie M. (East) Chism. Amzel was retired after some twenty plus years as a Pediatric Nurses Aide at Floyd Memorial Hospital. She loved her flower gardens and spent all of her life caring for others, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her life was centered around her family and flowers. Amzel will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandchild Jeri Ann Fuhrman, great grandchild Cora Faye Lewis and siblings Eula Mae Chism, Charles, Melvin, and Wilfred Chism.
Survivors include five daughters; Paula Fuhrman (Jerry), Patti Young (Jeff), Kathy Hagan (Pat), Tammy George (Jerry) and Lisa Muff (Mike). Also ten grandchildre seven great grandchildren and a brother Russell Chism. A Graveside Sharing Service was held Friday June 16, 2017 at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana.
