Curtis D. Waggoner Curtis D. Waggoner, 84, of Henryville, IN, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:02 AM at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN.
Born March 3, 1934, in New Albany, IN, son of Kenneth G. and Lillian E. (McAfee) Waggoner.
He was a 1953 Henryville High School graduate. Two weeks after graduation, on May 30, 1953, in Georgetown, IN, he married the love of his life, Anna F. (Hogue) Waggoner, his wife of 65 years, who survives in Henryville, IN.
Curtis was co-owner of Waggoner Masonry, was a former Western & Southern Insurance Agent, and taught construction to kids in Clark County. He was an active member of Henryville Community Presbyterian Church where he served as a Parish Moderator, an Elder, a representative to the Presbytery, and was the current church representative on the local ministerial association. He played the role of Judas in the community Maunday Thursday services. Curtis also served as president of the Henryville PTA, president of Henryville Band Boosters, was a charter member of the Henryville Civic Club, and the Mt Zion Cemetery Board. He loved to keep busy by gardening, working on the farm, feeding his birds and researching family genealogy and history. Curtis was a believer in always helping others by giving of his time and by being a faithful weekly contributor to the food pantry.
Other survivors include, his 4 children, Rita S.(Robert) Mattingly of Evansville, IN, John K. Waggoner of Henryville, IN, Curtis L. (Julieta) Waggoner of Columbus, IN, and Linda A. (Terry) Dickson of Henryville, IN, 9 grandchildren, Lilianna (Ryan) McCurdy, Aleta J. (Bryan) Hepp, John K. Waggoner II, Thomas W. Waggoner, Brandon A. Waggoner, Curtis Toye (Mary) Waggoner, Kylee S. Waggoner, Elizabeth B. (Shane) Baker, and Rebekah A. Dickson, and 7 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his 9 year old daughter, Vicki E. Waggoner, a granddaughter, Lillian A. Dickson, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Dianne Waggoner, siblings, June E. Hooper, Kenneth J. Waggoner, Tina B. Waggoner, and Michael S. Waggoner.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, with burial to follow at Mt Zion Cemetery.
Visitation is from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 and after 9:00 AM on Wednesday all at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be given by bringing in a non-perishable food item to the funeral home during the visitation and/or the funeral for the food pantry or monetary donations may be made to: Mt Zion Cemetery Association c/o Adams Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 209 S.
