Doris Lee (Stamler) Leep, 91, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Diversified of Providence in New Albany. Funeral services for Doris will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Pkwy in Jeffersonville, with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was born on October 18, 1925, in Carrollton, KY, to the late Ervin and Emma Stamler. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of the VFW #3281 in New Albany, the American Legion #35 in Jeffersonville, and was retired from ICI in Charlestown, and the Charlestown Hospital.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Bill Leep; her sisters, Margaret Harman, Frances Harmon, and Erma McCollum, all of Carrollton, KY.
Doris is survived by her children, Randy Leep of Louisville, KY; Janice Sinkhorn (Carl); two grandchildren, Kristi Adkins (Stoney); Nathan Gaither (Michelle); six great-grandchildren, Justin and Dalton Adkins, Emily, Courtney, Matthew, and Nicholas Gaither; two great-great-grandchildren, Stoney Adkins, Enzo Siener; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff and her Diversified of Providence family for the last two and half years of her life for their loving care of their mother.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Diversified of Providence. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
