Dorothy's Story

Dorothy L. Chaney, 96, passed away Saturday at Baptist Health Floyd, New Albany, Indiana. She was a native of Floyd County, IN. She was a homemaker and worked at the old Indiana Army Ammunition Plant and owned and operated Dot's Little Kubard Antique Store.
She was a member of Park Christian Church. She was an Honorary Kentucky Colonel. Her hobbies were quilting, traveling, reading, and word jumble puzzles. The great joys in life were her faith in her Lord and Savior and her family.
She is survived by her four daughters, Mary Huddleston, Joyce Parris (George), Bette Lay (Roger), and Candice Barksdale (John); 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, William Chaney, a grandson, Jimmy Glotzbach, a sister, Agnes Byers, and a son-in-law, Alfred Huddleston.
Visitation will be from noon- 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Market Street Chapel/Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes and after 9 a.m. Thursday at Park Christian Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Park Christian Church. Interment will be in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park., New Albany.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Park Christian Church.
