Effie's Story

Effie Mae (Friedly) Faith, 91, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on January 28, 2017. She was born in New Amsterdam, Indiana on September 4, 1925 to Harve and Florence (Moyer) Friedly. Effie worked for Charlestown Powder Plant in her earlier years and was a long time member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in New Albany, Indiana. Effie enjoyed playing bingo, Hershey bars, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Effie was preceded in death by her husband; Delbert Eugene Faith, sisters, Inis Tankisley and Bernice Wiseman, her brother, Paul Friedly; a granddaughter, Lindsay Panter.
She is survived by her loving children, Janice Dierking (Arthur), Dallas Faith (Aletha), Lewis Faith, Richard Faith (Michele); along with eight grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Her service will be on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 9-11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
The Family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Lincoln Hills Health Center for their wonderful care for Effie.
