France Hensley, 81, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at his home.
He was born on October 29, 1936 to Ewell and Manda (Adams) Hensley in Whitesburg, KY. He was a Marine Veteran of the Korean War, a retired maintenance supervisor of 32 years for the old Marley Cooling Tower Company in Louisville, KY, member of the VFW Post 1427, American Legion Post 335, Blazing Star Masonic Lodge 226, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, a former Charlestown city council member for 12 years, and a member of the North Charlestown Church of God.
Survivors include his son, Larry Hensley (Donna) of Charlestown, IN; daughter, Jammie Wolfe of Charlestown, IN; brothers, Billy R. Hensley of Jeffersonville, IN, and John M. Hensley of Bardstown, KY; sister, Nola Morton of Isom, KY; grandchildren, Wesley Hensley (Kara) of Charlestown, IN, and Douglas Wolfe (Holli) of Charlestown, IN.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 11am to 8pm, and after 9am on Wednesday. Masonic services will be held on Tuesday at 7pm at the funeral home.
