Iona Lois Longest Snook, 90, passed away Saturday February 18, 2017 at Clark Memorial Hospital. She was the former Iona Lois Coats and was born in Speed, Indiana. She was a waitress for over 52 years, most notably at The Wheel Café and Tommy Lancaster's among several restaurants in the area. She was a member of the Hamburg Pike Church of Christ and was preceded in death by her husband: W.H. Snook, her parents: Dewey and Tina Coats, her granddaughter, Amy Lynn Brock and her brother, Carl Coats.
Survivors include her son, Jerry Longest (Marcy),; two daughters, Sherry Henson and Yvonne Waters; her brother, Vernon Coats (Patty); five grandchildren, Gwen Snider, Rick Henson, Terri Jo Tucker, Robert Brock and Daniel Robertson; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville (1119 E. Market St.) with burial in Swayback Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday before the service.
