Jackaline Combs Johnson, 72, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017. The daughter of the late Caleb and Elizabeth (Mullins) Combs Whalen, Jackie was born August 17, 1944 in Richmond, Ky. She was active in A.A. and a staunch supporter of the F.O.P. and Indiana State Troopers. She also loved animals and supported the ASPCA of the USA. An awesome and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by many. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Elizabeth Young.
Survivors include her husband, Charles L. Johnson; children, Retha Young, Steven Young (Sandy), Michele Ann Starr, Lisa Marie Hall, Stephanie Johnson-Reed (Marlon), and Christie Lee Smith; brothers, Jimmie (Kitty) and Alfred Combs; 14 grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN. Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in the Kraft Charlestown Road Chapel with burial to follow in Walnut Ridge Cemetery, Jeffersonville, IN.
