Janet's Story

Janet Ninon Peterson, 91, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2017 at The Villages of Historic Silvercrest surrounded by her husband and family. She was born in Evansville, Indiana on March 2, 1926 to the late George and Ninon Gymer.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney Peteson, and they had been married for 70 years. Janet is also survived by two children, son Mark Peterson (Renee) and daughter Ninon Ritter; and her grandchildren, Jonathon Ritter (Janet), Katy Ritter, Emily Ninon Hartz, and Margaret Lindner (Chris) as well as six great grandchildren.
Janet went to Bosse High School, Dennison University, and Indiana University where she met her life- long partner, Sid, and they were married in 1947.
Janet had a great zest for life and enjoyed boating at Kentucky Lake on their beloved, "Just Janet", while entertaining friends and family on a regular basis. The clink of ice could heard on their boat or at home most every 5 o'clock hour and Janet will be missed by friends and family all over the country.
A celebration of Love and Life will be held at Silvercrest, 1 Silvercrest Drive, New Albany on Saturday, November 4 at 3 p.m.
