Larry J. Davis, 75, died Monday June 5, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, Indiana. He was born in New Albany, Indiana to the late Charles E. and Mildred (Gunn) Davis. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps and was retired from Caesar's Hotel and Casino as a landscape supervisor. He was an instructor at Ivy Tech in Sellersburg, Indiana, was an avid IU Hoosiers fan and a member of V.F.W. Post 3281, New Albany.
He is survived by his wife Deidre K. Nichols-Davis; his son, Scott R. Davis (Ashia); daughters, Kimberly Brown (Bo) and Staci Farris (Scott); his sisters, Helen Spurlock, Linda Badger and Sue Weatherford; five grandsons; his granddaughter; and two great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by his brothers Harold and Randall Davis and his sister Sharon Missi.
Visitation will be from Noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes (1119 E. Market St., New Albany, Indiana).
His funeral service will be held at 12 noon Friday in the Market Street Chapel with burial and military honors in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Wounded Warriors Project or Rauch Industries.
