Marion "Sam"'s Story
Marion "Sam" Soper, age 85, died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was an accountant for CSX. He had owned and operated Soper Shell Station in Jeffersonville, Indiana in the 1960's. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was a part of the post war clean in Germany. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Marion was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Soper, his parents, Daniel and Linnie Soper.
He is survived by his son Charles W. Soper and his wife Debbie of Jacksonville, FL.; daughters, Carol M. Paolantino and her husband Mike of Franklin Park, IL. and Claudia Soper of Jeffersonville, IN.; sister, Corrine Doan of Louisville, KY.; granddaughters Gianna, Danielle, Brittney and Kristen; two great- grandsons.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 1 p.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at E.M. Coots' Sons Funeral Home.
