Merlin J. Howlett, 51, of West St. Paul, Minnesota, formerly of Borden and Hope, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017. He was a 1984 graduate of Borden High School and a former member of the St. Joe Catholic Church in Sellersburg. Mr. Howlett worked at the Cummins engine plant located in Columbus, Indiana and later worked for Onan in St. Paul, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, George and Rita. Greatly missed by his wife, Mary Ann; his stepchildren, Patrick (Francine) Goetsch, Christopher Goetsch, Laurie (Mike) Bergum; his grandchildren, Samantha, Erin, C.J., Abby, Natalie and Anthony; his brothers, Wayne (Sharon) and Calvin (Virgie) Howlett. He also leaves behind other family and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 3 until 8 p.m. at the Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. John Paul II Catholic Church (St. Joe Campus). In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. John Paul II building fund. Online condolences can be made at www.garrfuneralservices.com.
