Michael's Story

Michael Ray Arnold, age 68 of Floyds Knobs, Indiana entered into eternal rest on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 9:21 a.m. He passed away at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany surrounded by his family. Mike was a larger than life man who was very much loved by his many friends and family. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. Mike spent most of his life as a painter alongside his dad Raymond and son Micah, with the Raymond L. Arnold and Sons Painting (Arnold Painting). Mike was also well known as the owner of the old Cadillac Bowling Lanes in downtown New Albany for many years. Besides being an avid bowler, he loved golf, fishing and restoring old cars. Mike's life always revolved around his family. He was a great friend to many and will be truly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond L. and Mary Jane Hardin Arnold.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Arnold; children, Jennifer Arnold (Chris Brazell), Stephanie Arnold-Breger (Doug) and Micah Arnold (Mary); grandchildren, Savannah, Garreth, Kaden, Tristan and Isabella; and two great-grandchildren, Caleb and Christian.
He is also survived by his sister Judy Thompson and children Nathaniel and Angela. Mike was very proud of his family and went above and beyond for each and every one of them throughout the years. He was well known in our community and always loved helping others.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. 7 p.m. Sunday, July 16, and after 8 a.m. Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. His funeral service will be held 12 noon Monday, July 17, at the Kraft Spring Street. Chapel with full military honors. Entombment will follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, Chapel of the Cross in New Albany.
