Michael Lee Spalding, age 65, won his long battle with Dementia, Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Green Valley Care Center, New Albany, IN. Michael was born March 9, 1952 in Louisville, KY to the late Frank and Mary Ruth Hellman Spalding. He was retired from Jasper Engines and was an avid hunter, fisherman, mechanic and a jack of all trades. The country life and family were his loves, making them laugh and also putting a smile on people's faces.
Also preceding him in death were a son, William Edmund Spalding, and brothers, Frank, Samuel and Patrick Spalding.
Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Jennifer E. Jantzen Spalding; former wife, Nena Spalding; daughters, Aletha Goodman (Michael) of Depauw, IN and Brandy Johnson (Joseph) of Jeffersonville, IN; four grandchildren, Corban, Evan, Garron and Breena; sister, Gloria Stephenson of Marengo, IN; twin sister, Diana Slaughter of Palmyra, IN; three nephews.
Cremation was chosen and there will be no funeral or visitation.
Swarens Funeral Home, Ramsey, IN is in charge of arrangements.
