He is survived by the love of his life, Sandra (Simmons) Stockelman, his children, Jacob, 25, and Molly, 20, his mother, Hazel, his brothers, Daniel and Timothy (Rebecca), and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews, as well as his beloved dog, Persistence. He was preceded in death by his father, William.
Mike loved to spend time in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and spending time with others while enjoying God's Creation. He was also an avid volunteer for The National Wild Turkey Federation, Boy Scouts of America, Indiana Hunter Education Association, Wilderness and Remote First Aid Training, Paralyzed Veterans Association, Silver Creek Conservation Club, and Cummins Seymour Engine Plant Backsacks Program.
Mike wished to be cremated, and requested that his ashes be scattered on his hunting property. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Garr Funeral Home in Sellersburg, Indiana. Visitation will be held at Garr Funeral Home on Monday, May 6, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
