Funeral services for Rebecca Wiggins, age 55, of Sellersburg, Indiana will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Christ Gospel Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Burial will be in Walnut Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Kraft Funeral Home of New Albany, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 on December 2, 2017, at Christ Gospel Church prior to the funeral service. Mrs. Wiggins died at 5 a.m. on Sunday, November 19 at Jennings American Legion Hospital in Jennings, Louisiana.
Her early years were spent in Louisiana. She graduated from Iota High School in Iota, Louisiana and earned a Bachelor's degree from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She taught several years in Louisiana until she married and moved to Indiana. She then taught English as a Second Language in Clark County. She loved her church and participated by teaching Royal Regiments, helping with benevolence for funerals, attending Pillars functions and the regular services of Christ Gospel. She loved the music by the choir and the preaching of the pastor, Dr. Hicks.
Survivors include her stepchildren, Kristi Johnson, husband Mike and son Michael; Susan Wiggins, and Matt Wiggins, of Louisville, Kentucky; her parents, Bob and Liz Bollich of Jennings, Louisiana; one sister, Debby Guillory and husband Derek of Pineville, Louisiana; one brother, Steve Bollich of Eunice, Louisiana; several nephews and nieces, and two great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim. After Jim's death in 2011, she remained in Sellersburg and found comfort in her Lord, in her church and in her pet dog and cat, who also predeceased her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Christ Gospel Church of Jeffersonville, Indiana or to the American Diabetic Association.
