Robert's Story

Robert Bruce Harbeson, 63, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017. The son of the late Robert and Ruth Geswein Harbeson, Bruce was born March 30, 1954 in New Albany, Indiana. He was a graduate of Providence High School and Hanover College, where he played football and was inducted into the Hanover Hall of Fame. Bruce shared his talent by coaching youth football and as assistant football coach at Providence High School for several years. In addition to football, he enjoyed golf, tennis, and water skiing. He retired as Executive Vice President of Sales for Vestcom and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #1348 in Jeffersonville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brittany Kay Carroll.
Survivors include his wife, Connie McCurdy Harbeson; daughter, Natalie Bramer (Brent); sister, Diane Kay Tomes and her son, Jamie Tomes; grandchildren, Lyla, Brooks, Cole, Cora, and Braelynn; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his beloved yorkie, Rizzo. Bruce touched the lives of many and will be fondly remembered and missed by all.
Memorial Visitation will be 4 pm ~ 7 pm Monday, December 4th, at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7 pm Monday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel. It was Bruces wish to be cremated.
