Robert J. Hill, 90, passed away Saturday January 20, 2018 at Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in New Albany and was a World War II Veteran of the United States Navy. He was the owner of Bob Hill's Barber Shop in Jeffersonville for over 56 years. He was an avid golfer and was a charter member of the Jeffersonville Elks Club, a member of the Knights of Columbus in Jeffersonville and the old New Albany Country Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma Stemle Hill, his parents, Charles and Mary Hillen Hill, his brothers, Charles, Jack and Harry Hill, and his sister, Mary Renn.
Survivors include his son, Alan Hill and his wife, Evelyn; his daughter, Lisa Scott and her husband Howard; two grandsons, Brandon Hill and his wife April, Jeremy Andres and his wife Von; his
granddaughter, Alyssa Scott; and two great-granddaughters, Anna and Sophia Hill.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday January 25, 2018 at the Market Street Chapel of Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville (1119 E. Market St.) with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 - 11 a.m. Thursday before the service. Memorial contributions: The Floyd County Animal Rescue League.
