Robert L.'s Story
Robert L. Hunt, 80 years of age passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018. He was born in Floyd County, IN on September 2, 1937 to the late Everett and Armella Hunt. He was a retired Senior Vice President of Operations from Dahlem Construction Co. after 41 years of service and a carpenter by trade. Bob was a longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church in New Albany where he held several offices over the years and was very involved in the church food pantry. He and his wife Carol received the Giants in Faith Award for helping the poor. His hobbies included collecting antique carpentry tools, helping his wife collect antique glassware, woodworking, traveling, and golf. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Kelly Hunt.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Carol Ann (Weldon) Hunt; children, Deborah Gill (Hugh), Robert Hunt Jr. (Kim), Tamara Beitz (Mark), Scott Hunt (Kelley), Katherine Hunt, Teresa Robinson; siblings, Charlotte Vordenberg, Thomas Hunt (Nina), Mark Warren (Diana), Sharon Hunt, Joe Warren (Janet); 14 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana, and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church. His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church with burial to follow at St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lanesville, IN.
