Robert E. Lentz, 86, died on October 22, 2017 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN after a brief illness. He was born November 24, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN the son of Jesse and Iona Harlan Lentz. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who fought in the Korean War. He was a member of the Floyds Knobs Christian Church, American Legion Post 42 of Floyds Knobs, and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty Atchley Lentz and special friend Judith McCrary.
He is survived by his companion, Alene Horner of Georgetown, IN; one son, Robert Eric Lentz (Timi) of Floyds Knobs, IN; one daughter, Lisa Dohoney (Robert) of Greenville, IN; four sisters, Sylvia Eveslage, Mary Ellen Keller and Joyce Ann Norris (Bill) all of Floyds Knobs, IN and Wanda Mae Zimmerman of Pensacola, FL; four grandchildren, Justin (Carly) and Tyler Dohoney, Meghan and Brooke Lentz; two great-grandchildren,Wyatt and Emerson Dohoney.
The funeral will be Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Noon at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Georgetown, IN. Pastor Pam Pettyjohn will officiate. Burial will follow at Edwardsville Cemetery, Edwardsville, IN.
Visitation will begin Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from Noon until 8 p.m. and continue on Wednesday after 10 a.m. until time of the funeral.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial gifts be made to the American Diabetes Association.
