Ronald S. "Chipper" Tower, 57, of Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Ronnie was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He was a former cook at Jerry's Restaurant in Jeffersonville before he went on to be a deck hand for McBride Towing for over 25 years. Ronnie loved music, was an avid fisherman and a faithful U of L fan. He enjoyed ending his nights with a good book and a doughnut.
He was born on December 12, 1959 in Nassau, New Hampshire to the late John H. and Vernabelle (Platt) Tower.
Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Dawn (Bego) Tower; stepdaughter, Evie Ford; siblings, John Tower (Judy), Mark Tower (Marrisa), Terry Tower (Lucretia), Barry Tower (Tina) and Jaylene Tower; eight nieces and nephews; and 14 great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, September 11, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His funeral service will then follow at 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
