Sister Rosemary Dauby, 66, of Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand, Indiana, died at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Columbus Regional Health in Columbus, Indiana.
Sister Rosemary was born on December 4, 1951, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the fifth of nine children of Edward and Hettie (Peters) Dauby. She entered the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand in 1970 and made her profession of monastic vows in 1972. She celebrated the 25th anniversary of her profession in 1997.
She is survived by three brothers, Paul of Stevensville, Montana, John of Jeffersonville, and Leo of Jeffersonville; and four sisters, Catie Thompson of Newburgh, Sister Agnes Marie Dauby of Ferdinand, Dorothy Wycoff of Jeffersonville, and Mary Margaret Ball of Pewee Valley, Kentucky; nieces and nephews; and members of her religious community. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Mary Ann.
She was the director of the Family Neighborhood Clinic in Santa Claus. She served as a physicians assistant in Huntingburg, Louisville, Leavenworth and Corydon. Most recently, Sister Rosemary served in Faith Formation Ministry at St. Agnes Parish in Nashville, Indiana. Her ministry also included visiting with the sick and homebound.
Visitation will be at the monastery on Wednesday, June 13, from 2 to 6:45 p.m. EDT and on Thursday, June 14, from 2 to 4:15 p.m. A wake service will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the monastery church followed by burial in the monastery cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand.
