Thomas Landrum Burchett, 92, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at his home.
He was born on September 1, 1924 in Paintsville, KY. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, a retired maintenance worker for Rohm & Haas Chemical in Louisville, KY, member of the VFW Post 1427, Blazing Star Masonic Lodge #226, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlestown.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Louise Burchett.
Survivors include his wife the former Doris Lewis of Charlestown, IN; daughter, Brenda Woods (Bill) of Sellersburg, IN; son, Gary Burchett of Charlestown, IN; step-daughters, Donna Garvin of Mt. Vernon, KY, and Shannon Parker (Jerrod) of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Wayne Woods, Matt Burchett, Sarah Adel, Kim Burchett, Christopher Garvin, Shane Vest, Brandon Garvin, Seth Parker, Jacob Parker, Jeb Parker, Josh Sexton, and Danielle Sexton; eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 13, 2017 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., and after 9 a.m. on Monday. Masonic services will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
