79, passed away Friday at The Villages of Historic Silvercrest. . He was a native of New Albany, IN. He served as a Floyd County Deputy Sheriff, 20 years as a New Albany Police Officer, and 10 years with Community Corrections. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Lee Deich Lodge #99 F.O.P. and the Depauw Lodge #338 F. & A.M. He and his wife, Janet, enjoyed 20 years of winters in Venice, Florida among their many friends. .He is survived by his wife: Janet L.(Young) Burres; Three sons - Bryan Condra (Kelly) - New Albany, IN, Thomas L. Burres, Jr. - Sellersburg, IN, Kevin W. Burres (Mark) - Laconia, IN; Two daughters - Julie Condra (Greta) Floyds Knobs, IN, Veneshia J. Saltsgaver (David) Milltown, IN; brother - Ronald W. Burres - New Albany, IN; Two sisters - Betty J. Pankey - Paoli, IN, Anna Condra - New Albany, IN; Beloved dog: Heidi; Several Grand and Great Grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George (Red) and Leonard (Bub) Burres and a sister, Theresa (Tee) Receveur. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Market Street Chapel/ Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes, 1119 East Market Street, New Albany, Indiana. Visitation will be from 1-8 P.M. Tuesday at the Market Street Chapel/Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Funeral Homes.Interment will be in Veron Cemetery, New Albany, IN. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Research Hospital, Floyd County Animal Shelter, or Veron Cemetery. .
