Vada's Story

Vada Lea Dietrich, 80, of Memphis, IN, passed away at 3:03 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at her home.
Born August 31, 1936 in Charlestown, IN to Clayborne and Nancy Mae (Reynolds) Morrison.
She worked at Goodman Clinic in Charlestown, IN as a doctor's assistant, worked at Memphis grade school for three years and then went back to Goodman Clinic where she worked until her retirement.
On November 27, 1957, she married William "Bill" Dietrich who survives in Memphis, IN.
Vada was a 1954 graduate of Charlestown High School and a member of Bluelick Christian Church, Henryville. She enjoyed singing, gardening, and picking blackberries, was a wonderful cook, and most of all, loved taking care of her husband and family.
Other survivors, a daughter, Debra (Lloyd) Nelson of Charlestown, IN; a son, Douglas Lee (Margie) Dietrich of Memphis, IN; a foster son, William Martin of Henryville, IN; six grandchildren, Dr. Zachary Dietrich, Kenneth Dietrich, Wayland (Katherine) Dietrich, Angel (Cornelius) Pesce, Brandon Martin, and Dr. Sarah (Dr. Tom) Lowe; five great-grandchildren, Chloe Pesce, Austin Martin, Olivia Martin, James William Lowe, and Julia Pesce; one sister, Dorothy Shrock of Madison, IN; two sisters-in- laws, Dorothy Jo Owen of Washington and Winona Morrison of Chelsea, IN; and one brother-in-law, David James of Lexington, KY.
She was preceded in death by brothers, James, John, and Bill Morrison, sisters, Jewell Hostettler, Marie Weddle, and Ruby James.
Pastor Steve Wever will conduct funeral services at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Bluelick Christian Church with burial to follow at Bowery Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Saturday, September 2, 2017 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville and Sunday, September 3, 2017 from Noon until 1 p.m. at Bluelick Christian Church, Henryville.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be given to Bluelick Christian Church building fund c/o Adams Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 209 S. Ferguson, St., Henryville, IN 47126.
