Wayne's Story

Wayne Allen Doughty, 75, of Jeffersonville, Indiana passed away on November 8, 2017.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Paula Doughty, his daughter, Amy Burnette (Brian), and his grandchildren, Jill and Teddy, who he adored beyond words. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Mitchell (Bob), his sister-in-law, Polly Walters, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mary Agnes Doughty.
Wayne was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and Indiana University. He was retired from the Boy Scouts of America and a member of Cook Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a church lay leader and Sunday school teacher for many years. Wayne was kind and caring and served others through his church and community service organizations. He enjoyed reading, traveling with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren. His favorite seasons were baseball and college basketball, and the Yankees and Hoosiers were his teams.
He loved us with all his heart, and we loved him deeply and will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on November 18, 2017 at Cook Memorial United Methodist Church, 1025 Allison Lane, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Visitation will be at the church before the funeral service, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
