Benjamin L. "Benjie" Kost, 65 of Carrollton, KY died Monday July 3, 2017. Mr. Kost was born Oct. 18, 1951, in Louisville, KY to the late Ray and Marie (Borman) Kost. He resided in New Albany, IN. then Carrollton, KY.
Mr. Kost drove an over the road truck since the age of 16, and was ready to retire. He was a devoted family man, loved by family and friends. He always put his wife, children and grandchildren before himself. He was past Master at the Georgetown Masonic Lodge No. 480 in Georgetown, IN. He was a member of Holy Family and Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Albany, IN. He was a member of the Scottish and York Rites in Indiana, Shriners in KY and many other Masonic Lodges throughout Southern Indiana.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Patty (Watkins) Kost of Carrollton; children, Scott, Bridgett, Suzie Kost, and Emily (Arthur) Turland; grandchildren, Eric Popp, Jennifer Davis, Adalee and Evie Turland; his mother and father-in-law, Pat and Nolan Watkins that were like second parents to him; his brothers, Bryant (Debbie) Kost, Bruce Kost; sisters, Phyllis (Bob), Kelly (Dan) Parrish and his sister-in-law, Jeanne (Bernie) Day and his brother-in-law, Jimmy (Sarah) Watkins. His parents; brother, Kenneth Kost; and sister, Joyce Kost preceded him in death.
There will be a Celebration of Life from 4-8 p.m., Saturday, July 15, at the Masonic Temple on Market in New Albany, IN. Come bring stories/pictures to share in celebrating his life.
