Coleta Faye Norris Hatfield, formerly of Greenville, Indiana, age 82, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at her home in Naples, Florida.
Coleta was born in Martinsburg, Indiana on October 12, 1934 to Ray Norris and Inez Marie (Loyd) Norris. Coleta retired from the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville.
James B. (Jimmy) Hatfield was born on December 31, 1929 to Bryson and Leticia Graves Hatfield in Louisville, Kentucky. Jimmy was a barber in New Albany for many years and also retired from farming. Jimmy passed away on July 1, 2009. Coleta and Jimmy were married on June 6, 1952.
Rita Faye Hatfield Ahern was born to Coleta and Jimmy Hatfield on October 6, 1953 in New Albany, Indiana. Rita worked for GMAC in Jacksonville, Florida and passed away on August 1, 2015.
Survivors include grandchild Nicholas Harmon of Virginia; two sisters, Patsy Hein and Jane (Billy) Stewart of Pekin; and foster brother, Tony Fleenor of Pekin. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Ray and Marie (Loyd) Norris; husband, Jimmy B. Hatfield; daughter, Rita Faye Ahern; foster brother, Gary Fleenor; and brother-in-law Jerry Hein.
A memorial service for Coleta, Jimmy and Rita will be at Love Funeral Home in Palmyra on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 1 p.m. with burial to follow in Martinsburg Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 3 to 8 p.m. and from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home on Friday, February 3, 2017.
