Donna Jane Brown, 62, passed away after a long battle with cancer. Born in New Albany, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late David and Jane Jordan. She is survived by her husband, Howard; sons Matthew and Ryan (Catherine and grandson Nathaniel) and daughter Lindsay Kendris (Dan); sister Nancy Haseker (Gary) and niece Linnea Kessans (Brad).
Donna was an amazing teacher and taught K-5th graders in IN, NY, FL and Easley, SC. She and Howard lived in Kenya for 11 years working with the St. Lawrence Kenya Program, where she raised a family and ministered to students spending a semester in Africa. She also mentored Kenyan pre-school teachers and helped develop a pre-school in Nairobi.
Above all, Donna loved the Lord, her family, friends and students with strong passion and never let illness deter her from living life to the fullest.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 15 at Community Bible Church, Easley, SC. Family will receive visitors from 1-3 p.m. with the service at 3 p.m.
