Jessie M. (Lori) Skelton, 87, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany. The daughter of the late Michael E. and Genevieve (Schulte) Lori, Jessie was born August 3, 1929 in New Albany. She was a retired travel clerk and logistician with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. She was a life-long member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, IN and member of the Daughters of Isabella. Jessie was an avid bunco and euchre player and travelled extensively. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Skelton; an infant son, Thomas G. Skelton; and siblings, Marie Pirtle, Rose Ann Bowman, Irma Eaton, and Melvin Lori.
Survivors include her children, Genevieve L. Harvey (Jim), Cynthia A. Faught, and Stephen M. Skelton (Raven); siblings, Frank H. Lori Sr. (Margaret) and Freda Jahn; brothers-in-law, Fred Eaton and Carson Skelton; grandchildren, James, Matthew, Janet, Robin, Noah, Jeremiah, Autumn, and Savannah; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephew.
Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m.Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. There will be a Rosary Service at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Her Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Clarksville, with entombment to follow in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany.
