Mary Delores "Cookie" (Cook) Collins, 89, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away on July 9, 2017, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Navilleton and the past president of the River Road Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. Cookie was an accomplished and talented artist and always loved rollerskating.
She was born on April 27, 1928, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Theodore and Mary (McGrath) Cook. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ira "Buddy" Collins, sons, John and Steve Collins, and infant daughter, Diane Collins.
She is survived by her children, Ira "Mickey" Collins (Karen), Connie Collins, Madonna Gammel (Allen), Michelle Spooner (Guy), and Ted Collins (Elsa); 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Her funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
