Anna Marie Abbott, 87, of Underwood, IN, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020, at her home peacefully.
Anna was born on February 13, 1933, in Bardstown, KY. She was the daughter of Joseph Cissell and Fanny (Newton) Cissell.
On March 13, 1954, in Jeffersonville, IN, she married Charles Abbott, who preceded her in death on April 5, 2006.
Anna was a member of Mt. Hebron Church of Christ, enjoyed being a member of the Country Tyme Garden Club in Henryville, and loved to bake cakes, which she was quite famous for. Anna had a green thumb. She loved working in and taking care of her flowers. She was a loving person, was always kind, generous, and touched the hearts of many people.
Anna enjoyed working in the cafeteria at West Clark Community Schools where she rarely missed any days, planning all her days around her work schedule. She was a great employee, mentor, and friend to many in her 49 years of working Memphis Elementary and Henryville Schools.
Survivors include 5 children, Eddie (Teresa) Abbott, Donnie (Linda) Abbott, Beverly (Greg) Bagshaw, all of Henryville, IN, Becky (Mark) Grantz of Sellersburg, IN, and Judy (Doug) Johnson of Henryville, IN, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mary Cooper of Henryville, IN and Alice Newton of Sellersburg, IN.
She was also preceded in death by 1 sister and 7 brothers.
Visitation is from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2020, and after 9:00 AM on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville with burial to follow at Mt Moriah Cemetery.
