Jeffersonville, Indiana - Barbara "Mimi" Stallings Waiz, 92, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at The Villages of Silvercrest on March 28, 2025. Born in English, Indiana, on September 11, 1932, she was a dedicated member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.

Barbara was a proud graduate of Jeffersonville High School. Her career began as an administrative assistant at General Electric, and she later worked alongside her husband, Bob, at Waiz Real Estate and Taggart Insurance Center.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Barbara was a dynamic entrepreneur who co-owned and operated Jubilee Gallery in downtown Jeffersonville with two close friends. She often said that her talent lay in appreciating the talents of others. Actively involved in Tri Kappa and the Pilot Club, she was also a devoted bridge player, an avid reader, and a passionate traveler. Her enthusiasm for dance and the arts showcased her vibrant and creative spirit.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Waiz Sr.; her father, James Stallings; and her mother, Norma Blubaugh. She was the last surviving member of her generation of the Waiz family.

She is survived by her son, Robert L. Waiz Jr. (Susan) of Jeffersonville, IN; her daughter, Catherine R. Heaton (Chris) of Cincinnati, OH; grandchildren Lena Waiz, Robert Waiz III, Jason Heaton, Matthew Heaton, and Kelsey Heaton; and great-grandchildren Robert Lee Waiz IV and Evelyn Michael-Heaton.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 4, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Coots Funeral Home from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saint Augustine Church Restoration Fund.
