New Albany, Indiana - Betty C. Pruitt, age 94, formerly of New Albany, Indiana and most recently residing in St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025.

Betty had a deep affection for animals, particularly cats, and took pride in cultivating her rose gardens. She was an enthusiastic supporter of PBS and dedicated much of her time to charitable endeavors, including Feline Fix and adult literacy programs. She had a passion for ancestry and genealogy and was also a committed patron of the arts.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Pruitt, and daughte, Cathy Hudson. She is survived by her children, Julie Reynes and Chris Pruitt; her daughter-in-law, Marisa Miralles; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on December 12th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, with the funeral service on December 13th at 11:00 AM. Both services are scheduled at the Oak Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes(1846 E Oak St., New Albany, IN 47150).

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Floyd County Animal Rescue League in lieu of flowers.
