Calvin Renn Wrege Jr.
May 14, 1942 - March 11, 2025
Calvin Renn Wrege Jr., 82, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved wife and children on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. He was born on May 14, 1942, in New Albany, Indiana to the late Calvin Sr. and Wilma Wrege. After Calvin (Bud) graduated from Jeffersonville High School in 1960 he was accepted into Vanderbilt University where he received his degree in mechanical engineering in 1963. Bud decided to serve his country by enrolling in the Peace Corp and spent the next two years helping build irrigation systems in Nigeria, Africa. He returned to the US and married Pamela Jane Creek in 1966. They enjoyed a loving marriage that lasted for 58 years. Shortly after they married, Bud went to work for Union Carbide/Praxair and had a rewarding career as an engineer and manager retiring from the same company in 2005 after 38 years. In Bud's spare time he enjoyed playing golf and visiting his grandchildren in California and Indiana. He was also an avid fan of the KC Royals and Chiefs.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Marcia and a nephew, Greg Daily.
Calvin is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Pamela (Creek) Wrege; his two kids, Scott (Nataly) Wrege and Melissa (John) Manley; and four grandchildren, Sam Bostic, Charlie Bostic, Ella Wrege and Carson Wrege.
Memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 EST on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150 with inurnment to follow in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.

Plant a tree: How does it work
When your purchase is complete, a post will be made on the tribute wall of the deceased signifying the planting of a memorial tree.
An official certificate recognizing your purchase will be included with your email receipt. You can then forward the email to the family or print it and give it to them personally.
After an order is placed, our forestry partners will plant the tree in the area of greatest need (nearest the funeral home), according to the planting schedule for the year.
Due to seasonal conditions, the tree planting takes place during the spring and summer.

January - May
Planting will take place in Spring or Summer of the same year.
June - December
Planting will take place in Spring of the following year.
