Henryville, Indiana - Carol Joyce (Bridgewater) Allen, 87, of Henryville, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Born on April 26, 1938, in Scott County, Indiana, Carol was the daughter of Fred and Earlene (Crum) Bridgewater.

Throughout her life, Carol was involved in various organizations that enriched her community and allowed her to make lasting friendships. She was a member of the Scottsburg Order of the Eastern Star and the Scottsburg Moose Lodge. Her commitment to service extended to the Maharane Apet Shrine Guild, and she was also a member of Henryville United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell "Tim" Allen, and by her siblings, Janet Shepard and Ron Bridgewater.

She is survived by her children, Kara Jenne (Tim) and Timothy Allen (Patty), grandchildren, Caradine Allen (Chris), Miles Allen, Matthew Jenne (Alaina), and Madeline Kratchman (Sean). Additionally, Carol was a proud great-grandmother to Ari, Miles Jr., Yolani, Susannah, Charlotte, Mary Alice, Niles, Clive, and Tate. She is also survived by her brothers, Daniel Bridgewater (Sally) and David Bridgewater (Julie), and her former daughter-in-law, Debbie Despirito.

Visitation for family and friends will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial taking place at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
