Henryville, Indiana - Carolyn Rose Esterle, 73, of Henryville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 17, 2026, at her home.

Born on December 21, 1952, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Dave and Della (Hensley) Muncy. She was a graduate of Jefferson High School and went on to dedicate 15 years of hard work to American Standard, where she was employed as a heavy equipment operator before retiring.

On November 23, 1985, Carolyn married the love of her life, George E. "Gene" Esterle, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and faith.

Carolyn was a founding member of Holy Trinity Christian Church in Jeffersonville and a longtime member of AL-Anon. Her faith and compassion guided her throughout her life. She was known for her caring and loving spirit, her big heart, and her willingness to help anyone in need. Carolyn had a special gift for offering thoughtful advice and was deeply charitable in both words and actions.

Above all, Carolyn cherished her role as a grandmother. She took immense pride and joy in her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Esterle of Henryville, IN; her children, Ronald L. (Laura) Craig Jr. of New Albany, IN, and Katherine L. (Scott) Jeffries of Henryville, IN; her five grandchildren, Brandon Craig, Andrew Craig, Tyler (Arielle) Flannery, Katelyn (Austin) Hattabaugh, and Kaylee Jeffries; and her two great-grandchildren, Iris Jade Rose Flannery and Eren Flannery. She is also survived by her brother, Darrell (Kim) Muncy of LaQuinta, CA; her stepchildren, Tommy (Amanda) Esterle of Hardinsburg, KY, Julie Esterle of Owensboro, KY, and Tina (Bobby) Carr of Princeton, IN; six step-grandchildren; and one great step-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, David Muncy, and her stepson, Doug Wright.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, with Pastor T.C. Baker officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service. All services will be held at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, Indiana, with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
