New Albany, Indiana - Clarence "Eddie" Coleman, a lifelong resident of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in the town he called home for more than eight decades. He was born on June 17, 1943, in New Albany, a place that would remain at the center of his life, his friendships, and his stories.

Eddie was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, carrying with him a quiet sense of duty and resilience that shaped the way he lived and the way he treated others. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career with AT&T, including its earlier years as Ameritech, where he earned the respect of colleagues through his steady work ethic and reliability.

Outside of work, Eddie found joy in the open road. A passionate motorcyclist, he had a particular love for vintage BMW motorcycles, appreciating not only their craftsmanship but the freedom and adventure they represented. Whether riding or reminiscing, he was never far from the spirit of the journey.

Eddie was also a familiar and welcome presence around New Albany's lunch spots, where he formed lasting friendships and brightened countless afternoons. Known for his easy conversation and warm, approachable nature, he was a friend to many and a stranger to few.

Eddie will be laid to rest at New Albany National Cemetery 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway - Jeffersonville has been entrusted with arrangements.
