Charlestown, Indiana - Cody Keith Proffitt, 28, of Charlestown, passed away November 2, 2021. He was born in Louisville, KY on March 18, 1992 to Stacie Muth and James Proffitt.

Cody loved his family more than anything. He was a good boy who was funny and would do absolutely anything he could for you. Cody graduated from Henryville High School where he was a member of the football team. He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Cody is preceded in death by his grandfather, Edmond Muth; uncle, Keith Muth; and his great-grandmothers, Dorothy Nance and Mary Bush. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Aiden Gibson and Taylynn Proffitt; mother, Stacie Muth; father, James Proffitt; sisters, Destiny Johnson and Casey Proffitt; grandmother, Brenda (Gary) Nierengarten; grandfather, Jimmy Proffitt; nephews, Larry Denton, Dalton Denton and Zachary Johnson and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation for Cody will be held Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Spring Valley Funeral Home of New Albany. A graveside service will take place Monday, November 8, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park with burial to follow.
