New Albany, Indiana - Dennis Edward Gagnon Sr., age 76, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025. Dennis was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 22, 1949, to the late George and Jessie Hanford Gagnon. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was retired from General Electric. Dennis was a proud veteran of the United States Marines and served in the Vietnam War. He enjoyed tennis, playing the guitar and was an avid IU and Green Bay Packers fan.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Kochert Gagnon; and a brother, Robert Gagnon.
Dennis is survived by three children, Ann-Marie Shaffer (Stephen), Dennis Gagnon Jr. (Renae) and Denise Howes (Ron); grandchildren, Gabrielle Gurr (Logan), Whitney Villanova (Jesse), Lucas Gagnon, Zachary Kelton, Natalie-Grace Gagnon, Taylor-Ann Kelton, Mallory Kelton, Liem Gagnon, Emarie Gagnon and Ryan Howes; great-granddaughters, Iyla Gurr and Ivy Villanova; a sister, Carol Passanisi (Joe); beloved nephew, Tim Cox; a niece, Belinda Gagnon; girlfriend, Donna Gossett and his precious dog, Figgy.
Visitation for Dennis will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral service will be Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 1015 East Main Street, New Albany, Indiana 47150 with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
