New Albany, Indiana - Dixie G. Cagle (nee Wilson), 87, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026 in her hometown of New Albany, Indiana. Dixie loved working in hospitals; she spent her early career at Jewish Hospital in Louisville and was a multi-award-winning volunteer for many years at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital following the death of her beloved husband William Cagle. A graduate of New Albany High School, she was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Blanche Wilson, her brother Roscoe Allison "Junior" Wilson, and her sister Reeda Jean Burks (Glenn). Survivors include her four children, son Scott (Fay) Oehrle; son Stephen (Coleen) Oehrle; daughter Shannon Cagle Dawson; and son Shawn Cagle; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and niece Glenda Burks Perkins.

Visitation will be held at the Oak Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes (1846 E. Oak Street, New Albany, IN. 47150) on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 from 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM with burial to follow at Graceland Memorial Park.
