Dolores Grace Hamm, 86, of Memphis, IN passed away at 2:24 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Harrison Springs in Corydon, IN.
Dolores was born on Tuesday, October 2, 1934, in Memphis, IN. She is the daughter of Norman Nelson Longest and Mary Elizabeth (Murphy) Longest who are both deceased.
Dolores was a 1953 Silver Creek High School graduate. She retired from the U.S. Census Bureau as a Statistical Supervisor after 30 years of employment.
On October 26, 1956, at Sellersburg United Methodist Church, Dolores married John Marvin Hamm Sr. who preceded her in death on March 12, 2016.
Dolores had an affiliation with Lincoln Hills Christian Church in Corydon, IN. She enjoyed reading, keeping her home spotless, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her three children, Elaine (William I.) Bell of Corydon, IN, Janet (Elvin William) Barks of Corydon, IN, and John (Karen Sue) Hamm Jr. of Memphis, IN; four grandchildren, Christina Elaine (Timothy) Hobbs, Christopher William (Jenna) Bell, Amy Alicia Bell and John Tyler (Natosha) Hamm; three great-grandchildren, Connor Bell, Jace Hamm and Eleanor Hamm; one sister, Opal (Matt) Thomas of Henryville, IN and one brother, Norman (Molly) Longest of Memphis, IN.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Jo Tomes, one brother, Dale Longest, one nephew, David Heath, and one great-nephew, Ryan William Longest.
Pastor Webster Ogilsby will conduct funeral services at Noon on Monday, June 21, 2021, at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, with burial of cremains to follow at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Bowery Cemetery in Memphis, IN.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, 2021, and after 10 a.m. on Monday, both at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville.
