Donald Lee Captain Huffmon, 83, of Memphis, IN, passed away at 10:54 PM on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Baptist Health Floyd Hospital in New Albany, IN.

Born May 22, 1933 in Jeffersonville, IN, he was the son of Richard and Ruth (Ettel) Huffmon who have both preceded him in death.

On June 25, 1957, he married Barbara (Richards) Huffmon who survives in Memphis, IN.

Donald retired from the Jeffersonville Police Department after 20 years of dedicated service and was the owner of Dons Den in Jeffersonville, IN for 15 years. He served in the National Guard for several years, was a member of St. Lukes United Church of Christ and Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #100 in Jeffersonville, IN.

Other survivors include 5 children, Tim Adkins of Charlestown, IN, Marilyn (Bob) Bryant, of Memphis, IN, Richard (Susan) Huffmon of Jeffersonville, IN, Debra Huffmon (Bud) Roach of Memphis, IN, and Erica Huffmon (Ricky) Burton of Henryville, IN, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter, 1 sister, Mary Ann Rhoton of Jeffersonville, IN, and 1 sister-in-law, Mary Ann Huffmon.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, William Huffmon.

Pastor Dave Colbert will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville, IN with burial to follow at Bowery Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 and after 9:00 AM on Thursday, both at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville.
