Doris Jean "Deanie" Hyman, 92, passed away at her home on Saturday, February 1, 2025. She was born January 31, 1933 to the late James Stanley Swearingen and Alma Dummitt Swearingen Ettel.

Deanie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, John Joseph "Joe" Hyman; a granddaughter, Aryn Jo Hyman; three brothers, Joe Harry Swearingen, George Stanley Swearingen, and James Bert Swearingen; and a sister, Ellen "Sis" Cassidy.

Deanie is survived by three sons, Joseph D. Hyman (Patti) of Frankfort, KY, Vince Hyman (Becky) of Louisville, KY and Pat Hyman of Jeffersonville; and four grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Catherine, and Robert Hyman.

A loving mother and grandmother, Deanie was a housewife and senior model for Alix Adams Agency in Louisville. She was a member of the Catholic Community of Jeffersonville, the Louisville Historical Society, and the Elks Club of Jeffersonville.

Deanie and Joe enjoyed many years of square dancing and following the University of Louisville football and basketball teams as season ticket holders. They also traveled throughout the U.S. and abroad, with numerous trips to New York City which was always a favorite of hers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her primary caregivers over the past several years. Denise Griffis, Hosparus of Southern Indiana, and her son, Pat, continued her high quality of life until the very end.

Visitation at Scott Funeral Home in Jeffersonville will be Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Private family burial to follow.
