Henryville, Indiana - Dorothy Jane (Fry) Montgomery, 83, of Henryville, IN, passed away at 11:42 AM on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at New Albany Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Dorothy was born on Wednesday, July 8, 1936 in Clark County, IN. She was the daughter of Roy Fry and Clara Mae (Reis) Fry.

Dorothy was a 1954 New Washington High School graduate. She worked at Stewart's Department Store and in the banking industry before marriage.

On Sunday, July 21, 1957, she married Max E. Montgomery. They had shared 60 years together whenever he passed away on December 11, 2017.

Dorothy was a homemaker and a babysitter to many children. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School. She served as girl scout troop leader and a den mother. She enjoyed collecting owls, canning, and working in her flower gardens.

Survivors include 4 children, Michael (Freda) Montgomery of Jeffersonville, IN, Brenda Montgomery of Bedford, IN, Doug Montgomery of Otisco, IN, and Kevin Montgomery of Henryville, IN, 3 grandchildren, Troy Montgomery of Los Angeles, CA, Michelle Montgomery (Ryan) Miller of Henryville, IN, and Miranda Montgomery of Otisco, IN, 4 sisters, Louise (Eddie) Garrity of Louisville, KY, Martha Montgomery, Ruth (Bill) Milner, both of Henryville, IN, and Margaret (Dominic) Canale of Sandy Hook, CT.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max, 2 sisters, Leona Holder and Linda Michell.

Pastors Billy Craddock and Jennifer Lorentzen will conduct funeral services at Noon on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 9199 Old State Road 3, Otisco, IN with burial to follow at Emmanuel Cemetery.

Visitation is from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville and after 10:00 AM at Emmanuel United Methodist Church on Monday.
