Dr. Vandeventet was a great supporter of literacy programs for the students of Avon. He understood the tremendous value of early reading success to a lifetime of learning. He was a Christ-led educational leader in all he did. I respected his focus on helping others and his love of the English language. I will never forget our conversations. We both enjoyed teaching. I will miss knowing he is a phone call away. God bless Wanda and his family. My sympathy to each of them.

Wanda, so sorry to hear about Larry. I had no idea that you all lived in New Albany. Pam and I live about three miles from you, although we are currently working on a project in Newburgh. If we can help you in any way, please call. My cell number is (812) 319-1095.

I loved being around Larry at your family gatherings. He had a sense of humor that I thoroughly enjoyed. He will be missed and I for one will miss him. May God forever keep and hold him in the palm of his hand. I will continue to keep the family in my thoughts and prayers.
