New Albany, Indiana - Elizabeth "Ann" Thornton Eiler, 101, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana. She was born on July 27, 1924, in Lebanon, Kentucky, to Andrew Thornton and Bertha (Ramsey) Thornton.

A working woman, she was the loving mother of three active, artistic, and spirited boys. The family was a proud group of supporters of New Albany High School, from her time as a baton-twirling majorette to watching her boys in sports and theater.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Earnest Eiler; a son, Jamie T. Eiler; parents, Andrew Thornton and Bertha Ramsey Rissler; stepfather Herbert Rissler; a brother, James Thornton; stepsisters, Marilyn Rissler Peel and Dolores Rissler Ellenberger. Her loving family, celebrating Ann's life and cherished memories, are her sons, Terry Eiler (Lyntha) and Joey Eiler (Deb); six grandchildren, Andrew, Christina, Elizabeth, Scott, Alex, Madeline and 8 great-grandchildren, Stone, Rosemary, Imogen, Alex, Lucian, Mercy, Lochlan, and Fiona.
