Memphis, Indiana - Ellen A. Bolden, 76, of Memphis, IN, passed away at 9:45 AM on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at her home.
Ellen was born May 24, 1943 in Jeffersonville, IN. She was the daughter of Harvey Bailey and Anna (Miner) Bailey.
Ellen was a graduate of Silver Creek High School and was of Christian faith.
On December 8, 1962 at Mt. Moriah Church, she married John E. Bolden Sr., who preceded her in death on May 20, 2011.
Ellen worked at Kimball Office Furniture in the finishing department in Borden, IN and retired in 2004.
She loved crocheting, gardening, talking on the phone, mowing her grass, watching...the Gaither's on Saturday nights, The Voice, American Idol, and America's Got Talent. She loved her four legged friend, Butterball, with all of her heart. She was also crowned, "Miss Memphis". She was a passionate, loveable, and amazing woman who will be dearly missed by many.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Tammi (Jamie Sr.) James of Memphis, IN. 1 grandson, Andrew (Penelope Ballard) Valentine of Memphis, IN. 2 great grandchildren, Mackenzie and Alexsandra Valentine, both of Charlestown, IN. 1 aunt, Faye Morris of Sellersburg, IN. 1 niece, Regina Costello of Scottsville, KY, 1 sister-in-law, Bobbie Larson of Memphis, IN, 1 brother-in-law, Howard Bolden of Smyrna, TN. 3 step-grandchildren, William James of Memphis, IN, Jimmy James of New Washington, IN, Jamie James Jr. of Shepherdsville, KY, several step-great grandchildren, and 3 step-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, John Bolden Jr. (June 1996), and brother, James Harvey "Jr." Bailey.
Pastor Jim Bowyer will conduct funeral services 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Adams Family Funeral Homes & Crematory in Henryville, burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Visitation will be on 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, July 29th, 2019 and from Noon until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 30th, 2019, and after 9:00 AM on Wednesday, all at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Henryville.
