Jeffersonville - Ellen Louise Bryant, 96, of Jeffersonville, IN was called home on Monday, August 28, 2023 at her home. She was born on May 1, 1927 in Cincinnati, Ohio, daughter of Phil and Addie (Owens) Sims. Ellen retired from Indiana Army Ammunition Plant after many years of dedicated service and later on was a chef and bakery chef at the Holiday Inn. She was a member of Gilt Edge Baptist Church where she was the oldest living member. Ellen loved her family very much and enjoyed the Senior Olympics, Cincinnati Reds, bowling, was an avid IU fan and loved to collect her many, many hats.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Phil and Addie Sims; two daughters, Jerris Mallory, Kathy Moran; siblings, Vinnie Ellis, Emmitt Sims, Billy Sims, Savannah Crumbs.

She is survived by her four children; Shari Lawler (Greg), Pat Bryant (Terry), Robin Bryant, Shaun Bryant; nine grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, September 1, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gilt Edge Baptist Church, 1713 D.L. Motley Way, Jeffersonville, with service at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery..
