Floyds Knobs, Indiana - Elva June Gilmore, age 97, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026. Born on June 2, 1929, in Taswell, Indiana, Elva lived a life marked by hard work, generosity, and deep love for her family.

Elva was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Maude and Fred Enlow; her son, Gary D. Gilmore; her brother, Jackie Russell Enlow; and two infant children.

She is survived by her son, Alan Gilmore; daughter in-law, Ruth Gilmore; granddaughter, Laura Gilmore and husband, John Groan; great-grandchildren, Evan Gilmore-Groan and Elena Gilmore-Groan; nephews, Warren Enlow and David Enlow; niece, Karen Brown; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Elva dedicated 42 years of service to Colgate Palmolive Company, where she built a strong work ethic and many lasting friendships.

She was a devoted member of RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program), where she generously crocheted countless hats for children in need. Elva found joy in crocheting, attending yard sales, and hosting her own yard sales, always enjoying the simple pleasures of life and the connections they brought.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the Autumn Woods Health Campus and Southern Care Hospice for the excellent care and kindness they provided.

Elva will be remembered for her generous heart, hardworking spirit, and love for her family. Her kindness and creativity touched many lives, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held at the Market Street Chapel of the Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes on Thursday, July 16th from 2 PM - 6 PM and also on Friday, July 17th from 10 AM - 11 AM. Funeral Service will be on Friday at 11 AM with burial to follow at the Taswell Cemetery in Taswell Indiana.

Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations in Elva's name to Blood Cancer United.
